The Magic of Using Color Tiles in Your Kitchen
Have you ever wondered why you feel so alive and welcome in one friend’s kitchen, so disassociated in another’s, and unwelcome in yet another’s? It may have to do with the use of colors on the walls, floors, and even the splashboard kitchen tiling. Color is known to play a huge role in the emotional and mental well-being of humans, yet many people randomly select what colors they will decorate their kitchen with from the pages of a magazine. Here are a few things to consider about the magic of using color tiles in your kitchen.
Warm Colors
Warm colors are strangely psychological in nature, yet the colors are very different from one another. Orange stimulates the appetite and makes your tummy growl, so it is often used in restaurants. Yellow reflects more light, and the higher intensity of bright yellow can cause anger, while the lighter hues can encourage happiness and optimism. Homeowners fear red more than any other color use, yet it can add warmth and comfort if used while containing grey tints.
Cool Colors
Green and blue are cool and calm colors that can make you feel restful and comfortable. Purple contains both blue and red, so it stimulates and soothes at the same time, thus it is said to be responsible for bursts of creativity. Lavender and lilac colors relieve tension and relax the body with their calming hues. For busy rooms, blue is the most serene and comforting color and is supposed to lower blood pressure.
You don’t have to fear the use of colored tiles in your kitchen as long as you know the psychology of each of their uses. It can be a good idea to purchase one of each of the colors you are leaning toward. Place the colored tile on a white surface and stare at it for a few minutes. You will be surprised to find your mood, thoughts, and emotions can change just from the effects of the single tile.
